The proprietary technology is an innovative high-throughput drug screening platform, using engineered living yeast cells with a human target, to screen potential drug candidates for CNS disorders, oncological and/or infectious diseases. Since the drug development cycle is lengthy (15-17 years) and expensive, there is a need for a method to screen for potentially successful drug candidates early in the development cycle. Many avenues of current research focus on high-throughput screening (HTS) systems so that compound libraries may be efficiently screened for effectiveness. This technology uses a yeast platform, so that only a few candidates of very high potential are entered into the remainder of the research and development process. This company has developed three proprietary and specific combinations of high-throughput yeast drug compound screening systems, each with a mammalian cell-validating set-up, that are in use today: (1) Platform for HTS of new drugs that inhibit the IDO enzyme or other kynurenine/NADH enzymes; (2) Yeast platform for HTS of modulators of misfolding compounds; (3) Yeast platform for HTS of anti-aggregation compounds. Efforts help identify drugs for treatment of neurological disorders, autoimmune disorders, infectious diseases, cancer, other age-related diseases, Alzheimers, Parkinsons, Huntington\\\'s, cystic fibrosis, ataxias, and Type II diabetes.
