RetMarker is a software package that analyses images of the fundus of the eye in order to improve the detection of lesions, and the changes the lesions experience over time. FIrst, a series of photos are taken. In each photo, the patients head is tilted slightly, or the camers is moved slightly, to capture a comparative angle. THe computer then uses a complex set of algorythms to determine the amount of change, and then uses that information to help doctors to identify specific areas of risk that need attention.
This is NOT a diagnosis device. This is an innovation that provides better data to the doctor, who then couples that data with existing data to make a diagnosis.
